Forza 6 feels like Forza 5 at first glance, but it’s much more than that. This is one of the best modern racing games available, and the developers have taken everything that made Forza 4 and 5 enjoyable and refined it with clever innovations and a few questionable choices. Overall, this is easily one of the best entries in the franchise.
From the opening loading screen, you’re greeted with stunning visuals and an energetic techno soundtrack that immediately sets an exciting tone. Once you’re in the game, there’s certainly a lot to take in. Between minigames like Wheel Spins, car customization, events, races, and additional content, newcomers might feel overwhelmed, but veteran Forza players will quickly orient themselves and spot the new additions. While the interface is densely packed, the game truly shines during actual racing. There’s so much to do that each piece alone can consume hours of playtime, adding significantly to replay value.
The Japan setting is absolutely gorgeous, and the car roster is staggering. Every gearhead and racing sim enthusiast will find plenty to drool over. You’ll unlock cars through seasonal events and rewards, discover new vehicles across the map as you complete ribbon events, and purchase cars as you earn credits. Co-op is seamlessly integrated. Joining or creating a “convoy” is flawless, and you can race cooperatively or competitively within the same event.
The multiple activities and races force you to drive different cars and experiment with tuning, which really demonstrates how the right vehicle and setup can make all the difference. There’s something deeply satisfying about spotting a cool, expensive car on television and then buying it from the Horizon Auction House, tuning it, and taking it out for a spin.
